Paladin: A leading champion of a good cause.

The Pen Paladin proudly advocates to resurrect the lost art of handwriting, while championing the preservation of the writing implements themselves.

The "Golden Era" of fountain pens began during the Second Industrial Revolution in the early 1880's and continued through the Post-war Boom of the 1940's.  During that time, many a hand authored great works of literature, endorsed deals that built financial and economic empires, composed letters of encouragement to loved ones on the battlefields of Europe, and signed military instruments of surrender; all with a fountain pen.  Pen companies competed heavily for business, filing hundreds of patents on everything from filling systems to ink feeds to the materials from which they were made.  The era saw the introduction of leak-proof caps, a remarkable new material called plastic, and fast-drying ink that no longer needed to be blotted.  In those days, a pen was not just a pen: It personified style, epitomized luxury, and symbolized status; "looking smart" clipped to the inside of a gentleman's vest pocket, or audaciously pulled from a ladies pocketbook as if it were fine jewels.

Lamentably, many of the smaller pen manufacturers that had seen the days of Vaudeville and the Roaring Twenties did not survive to see the end of The Great Depression.  When the economy had recovered, only a few remained.  But the indelible mark fountain pens have made on society is undeniable; and several of the industry's early pioneers make them still today.  At The Pen Paladin, however, we will forever be captivated by “the classics”.

Our company is pleased to offer two premier services: Vintage fountain pen restorations and vintage fountain pen retail sales.  Our selection of fountain pens for purchase may vary from time-to-time, but one thing is guaranteed: Each one has been lovingly restored by our in-house expert using the most original, authentic, and period-specific parts; and with the greatest of care.  The Pen Paladin specializes in Parker Pens, one of the world's most legendary luxury pen companies; boasting a distinguished history of patented inventions, the use of quality materials, and outstanding design.
